Eligibility criteria for Health and Care Visa: 

The Isle of Man Health and Care Visa is given to the individual who is applying under the Worker Route for Entry Clearance or Leave to Remain, who will be taking on a job in one of the occupations in (SOC) Standard Occupational Classification Codes given below and will be: 

An individual who is employed and engaged by: 

  • An organization or business providing services commissioned by the Isle of man NHS
  • The National Health Service (NHS) 
  • The Department of Health Social Care 
  • An adult care home (as in section 16 of the Regulation of Care Act 2013)

Having registration issued by the Department of Health and Social Care as needed by the Regulation of Care Act 2013

An individual who is engaged or recruited by, or registered with, one of the following organizations: 

  • General Chiropractic Council 
  • General Dental Council
  • General Medical Council
  • General Optical Council, General Osteopathic Council
  • General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Health and Care Professions Council
  • Nursing and Midwifery Council 
  • Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland 

 

Candidates for the Health and Care Visa will be required to fulfill all other criteria for a Worker Migrant like: 

Having a valid confirmation of employment for the job

Going to be paid a salary at the appropriate rate for the job

An acceptable level of English

Requiring level of personal savings

Tuberculosis test if coming from a listed country 

Give a criminal record certificate from any country in which they have lived for 12 months or more in the last 10 years, if they will working with the vulnerable people 

 

What is the Health and Care Visa fast-track entry? 

Entry Clearance Health and Care visa applications will be processed, and a decision reached within 7 working days from the application date, and all relevant specified proof, is referred to an Isle of Man Immigration Officer by UK Visas and immigration. 

In-Country Health and Care Visa applications will be processed, and a decision is reached within 7 working days from the application date, and all related mentioned proof is submitted and the correct fees are paid, to the Isle of Man Immigration Office. While all-out effort is made to work to and often exceed these processing times, some applications may consume more time to process, because of their complexity or if extra information is needed from the candidate, or were checks made to 3rd parties are not returned to the authority promptly.

The Immigration Service will offer priority support to any employer or applicant having questions or a problem related to their Health and Care Visa, Health and Care Visa application, or application for a Confirmation of Employment in support of a Health and Care Visa.
