Who can
apply for IMechE Membership as an Associate Member?
If you have been graduated with an undergraduate degree in technology, science, mathematics, or engineering (STEM) subject, then you can
join as an Associate Member. You need to have one of the following:
1. An
undergraduate degree that is accredited by IMechE Membership.
2. UK
undergraduate engineering degree.
3. Open
University undergraduate degree of accepted profile.
4. UK
undergraduate maths, physics, or another related science degree.
5. International
engineering degree that is fulfilling IMechE academic needs.
Unfortunately, qualifications that are not equivalent to a British bachelor’s
degree (Level 6) or above (like HNDs, HNCs, and Foundation degrees) don’t
fulfill the academic requirement to become an Associate.
The application process for IMechE Membership:
The application form is split into the below-given sections that
all be filled in before you submit your application:

You can update this information in My Profile.

Education:
You need to have a scanned version of any academic certificates to
hand as you will be prompted to upload these.
Your undergraduate degree certificate needs to have the following
information:

Date of Award
·
Class or Result (eg 2nd Class
Honours, Merit, and so on)
·
Subject Title of an award on a certificate (eg
Mechanical Engineering)
·
Awarding University
·
Qualification Award (eg Beng(H), MEng, and so
on)
If any of the above information is missing from your degree
certificate, then you will be required to upload a copy of your
transcript/results.
If having not got your official certificate, as you have recently
graduated, then you will be required to submit a letter from the awarding body
that confirms the information above.
IMechE doesn’t accept degree proof that states- valid for online-only or not an official copy.
Each and every document has to be submitted in its original
language and translated into English, if applicable.
There is a 4MB size limit for uploaded documents if anything goes
over this, that will lead to rejection.

information is not present. You will not be able to submit your application for
evaluation if there is any incomplete section.
