NSW Registration Eligibility Criteria For Engineers
If you are a professional engineer desiring NSW registration,
then you are at the right place. Here, we will familiarize you with the
eligibility criteria.
Knowing so, you will be able to better gear up for the registration
under Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020.
If wishing for a certificate of competency given by Engineers
Australia, you have to go through one of the three assessments for professional
engineers given below.
Engineers Australia is evaluating 3 forms of competency assessment
for registration of the professional engineer given below:

Assessment PE1 for pre-1989 engineering qualification
· Competency
Assessment PE2 for below 2 years of the Australian experience
· Competency
Assessment PE3 for non-accredited experience and qualifications
PE1
(Competency Evaluation)
This eligibility assessment is for those with a qualification in engineering completed before establishing the Washington Accord in
1989.
Previously
Evaluated qualifications:
You will be deemed having had your qualifications evaluated by
Engineers Australia in the following cases:

currently CPEng status with Engineers Australia

professional engineer.
3. Having
received a result of a professional engineer from Engineers Australia’s MSA

Engineer, you will be required to complete an entry to practice qualification
evaluation. For this, you need to provide the following for NSW registration:

any professional registration if you have.
P3
(Competency Evaluation):
This way is used when not having a qualification equal to a
Washington accord qualification. This evaluation takes your experiential
learning and qualification into account. It is a must for you to have
qualifications and experience related to the engineering area in which you are
applying for registration.
It is available only until 30 June 2022.
Requirements:
The required experience for this competency assessment will be 10
years, or equivalent part-time, practical experience within a period of the
last 15 years, which includes a minimum of two years of Australian

To get your qualifications and experience assessed for NSW registration,
