Those graduates having an undergraduate degree in STEM (Science,
Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) subject can join in the position of an
Associate Member and have IMechE, standing for, Institution of Mechanical Engineers Membership.
If you want to be an Associate Member, then you will be required to
have one of the following requirements:
1. An
undergraduate degree that is recognized by us
2. Open
University undergraduate degree of a profile that is acceptable
3. UK
undergraduate engineering degree
4. International
engineering degree fulfilling our academic criteria
5. UK
undergraduate Physics, Maths, or another related Science degree
Unfortunately, the qualifications that are not equal to a British
bachelor’s degree (Level 6) or above like HNCs, HNDs, and Foundation degrees,
do not fulfill the academic requirement to become an associate.

How to
complete the application form for Institution of Mechanical Engineers
membership for Associate Member?
The application form is split into the sections given below which
must be completed before you submit your application for the Institution of Mechanical
Engineers membership:

and employment details

2.
Education
You need to have a scanned version of any academic certificate to
hand when you are prompted to upload these:
Your undergraduate degree certificate should have the following
details:
· Awarding
university
· Qualification
Award (BEng (H), MEng, and so on)
· Award
date
· Class or
result (2nd Class Honours, Merit, and so on)
· Subject
Title of the award on the certificate (Mechanical Engineering)
In case if any of the information or detail is missing from the
degree certificate, then you will also be required to upload a copy of your
results/transcripts.
I have not received your official certificate, if you have been
graduated recently, then you will be required to submit a letter from the
awarding body that confirms the information or details given above.
The authority can’t accept degree proof stating – valid for online-only
or not an official copy.
Every document has to be submitted in its original language and
translated into the English language, if applicable.
There is a size limit of 4MB for uploaded documents if anything is found
over this, then that will be rejected.
